Ed Plunkett
Ed’s career spans military leadership, international diplomacy, and the management of complex estates and assets for some of the world’s most high-profile families. With a naturally personable style and a talent for building trust, he brings strategic oversight and operational precision to the Family Office world.
He began as a young officer in the British Army, serving in Iraq and Afghanistan – an environment that taught him to lead under pressure, adapt swiftly, and stay focused amidst uncertainty. These early lessons in discipline, service, and decision-making laid the foundation for a career balancing people, resources, and long-term objectives.
Following military service, Ed transitioned into international private service, managing significant European estates for a senior Arab Head of State. This role demanded not only logistical command but also cultural fluency, discretion, and sensitivity to diplomatic and defence-related matters. Fluent in French and widely travelled, Ed worked at the intersection of private assets, government contracts, and cross-cultural expectations.
He later ran the Private Office of a member of the House of Lords and held senior roles in leading Arab Family Offices. Whether managing estate portfolios or navigating complex family dynamics, Ed blends commercial insight with interpersonal skill. His experience across both government and private sectors enables him to design systems that balance legacy, efficiency, and long-term value.
What distinguishes Ed is his approach to relationships. Principals and teams alike value his charisma, calm presence, and ability to build enduring trust. For Ed, estate management is ultimately about people – understanding needs and delivering quietly behind the scenes.
He lives between London and Cornwall with his wife and three children. His interests, from country sports and long-distance bikepacking to contemporary art, reflect the same blend of focus, exploration, and creativity that defines his professional life.
